Questions
Short answers about the games we cover, age, money and how a season works.
Are these games free?
Every game on the ledger can be started without paying, through a free tier or a free trial. Most also sell expansions, subscriptions or store items; each entry says how much that matters, and fairness is where it counts.
Do I need a powerful computer?
No. All six run on an ordinary laptop from the last five years. Old School RuneScape and Albion Online also run on phones, sharing the same account.
Is this a gambling site?
No. Long Rest Ledger covers online role-playing games only. Nothing we list involves wagering money or winning cash, and we do not list casinos, slots or betting products.
How old do I need to be?
The site is written for adults. Each publisher sets its own minimum age, and accounts with payment methods must be held by adults.
Why only six games?
Because a season takes four weeks per world and there are three of us. Six we can stand behind beats fifty we skimmed.
Which one should I start with?
If you want a big world with no pressure, Guild Wars 2. If you play for story, the Final Fantasy XIV free trial. If you like long-term goals and do not mind a grind, Old School RuneScape.
How do you make money?
Buttons that open a game are affiliate links; the publisher may pay us a small commission. Publishers cannot buy a place or change a verdict.
Something in a game is broken. Can you help?
Not with your account. Each publisher has its own support site; that is the right place for login, payment and bug problems.
Can I suggest a game?
Please do, on the contact page. Tell us how long you have played it and what keeps you there.
